This movie is so intense you'll be stinking exhausted after watching it. It's got a cool oilfield component to it that intrigued me; an oil well fire and Mexico. The location of the fire in the movie is supposedly Venezuela but filming occured south of Pozo Rico and north of Veracruz, not far from the Golden Lane I have written about frequently.

Mexico (Pemex) has its own well control team. It's hard to find much about them, Pemex is pretty tight lipped about stuff, but those guys have been around the block and on some big jobs offshore Bay of Campeche. I suspect they were involved in the staging of this blowout and subsequent fire scenes for the movie.

So the plot is this well fire occurs and requires dynamite to blow it out. The star of the film, Roy Scheider (Jaws) and his gang have to go get the dynamite and bring it back to the well. That's all I am going to say about it other than its a sort of dark movie that will damn sure keep your attention. I give it a thumbs up.
