1964; this well was blowing hard enough it had to be snubbed down to the well head flange, a guide skirt was welded to the bottom of the spool to help it all come together. Coots is kneeling try to get his first bolt started, Boots and Red are pushing and giggling to help line up the holes. I don't know where this is, but its cold.


The boys are off the big Algerian job of 1962-1963 and are now world renown; none of the three can go anywhere, particularly in Houston, without being recognized and thanked, their hands shook, their backs patted. Life goes on however and this year is another busy year. Together and separately they'll catch almost 40 jobs this year.

In 1964 this was the A team of worldwide well control. Period.
